About Me

Hi, I’m Lola.
I’ve always had a deep love for all things pregnancy, birth, and babies. As a child, I would attend Cuidiú meetings with my mum and try to “look after” all the babies (even though I was barely out of toddlerhood myself!). From as early as I can remember, I wanted to become a midwife.

Before starting that path, I followed another dream: acting and performing. I worked in theatre for seven years, loving the creativity and connection it brought. One of my side jobs during that time changed everything. I was hired to support a mother caring for her premature newborn twins and their 15-month-old sister at home, just after the babies were discharged from the NICU. Being part of that raw, powerful transition from hospital to home reignited my original passion. I knew then it was time to return to the work I was truly meant to do.

Although I live with a chronic illness that caused me to miss much of my final two years of secondary school, I never gave up on becoming a midwife. I applied to Trinity College Dublin as a mature student, was accepted, and went on to graduate with a First-Class Honours degree in Midwifery. During my studies, I also completed an Erasmus placement in Denmark, training in one the country’s top maternity wards.

I began my career just before the pandemic, working on a private postnatal ward. That time showed me the importance of true, individualised care. Especially, when so many new parents were facing birth and recovery without visitors or extended partner support. It was there that I saw just how crucial it is for women and birthing people to feel supported, respected, and not alone.

During my ten years at the Rotunda Hospital, I specialised in postnatal and theatre midwifery. I developed a special interest in supporting families through caesarean births, protecting early bonding and skin-to-skin, and helping to initiate feeding in the theatre and recovery rooms. Championing what is normal and meaningful—even in a clinical setting—became one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

My passion for infant feeding deepened even more after having my own two children. I experienced the highs and challenges of feeding firsthand: jaundice, slow weight gain, blood sugar monitoring, teething, and everything in between. I saw just how overwhelming it can be, and how powerful kind, informed support is at the right time.

In 2024, I became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), combining my clinical experience with my deep respect for each family’s unique story. My goal is always to empower parents with clear information, genuine empathy, and support that feels calm, non-judgemental, and personal.

Wherever you are in your feeding journey, curious, struggling, preparing, or simply looking for reassurance. I’d be honoured to support you.
